-- Many of you are probably wondering what this site is. Well, we're a fun, brand new roleplaying site based off the series Pokémon. Now, I know that most of you are thinking: "Man, Pokémon is so gay and lame." Our mission here at Pokémon Arya is to minimize the gayness and lameness and create a more Teen-friendly site. That's right, this is PG-13.

Currently, we are recruiting staff members, Gym Leaders, and anyone who can create sprites for the brand new Gym Badges. If anyone feels that they are up to it, then please PM me, Blaze. --

* S e t t i n g *

-- Pokémon Arya takes place in a made-up region called Arya, obviously. This region contains every known Pokémon, including Generation V. However, this does not mean you will run into every single Pokémon.

You're probably wondering: "What about Team Rocket or Plasma or whatever?" Here at Pokémon Arya, we let you create the team. The very first person to PM me, Blaze, gets to create their own "Evil Organization" and title it whatever they want. Then, anyone else who joins is allowed to create Second-In-Commands, like the Sages of Team Plasma, or even grunts if they so choose. The Leader would PM me the most common Pokémon they carry and a rough description of their uniform, just the basics. --

There's a special place for that stuff, and it's in the Out Of Character section of our Forums. Please use that if you're going to get Spam out of your system.

2.[/b] Whatever the admin's say goes. Remember, admins hold the highest power and regard on this forum. Disobeying them is like breaking any other rule on this site.

3. Racism or intolerance will never be allowed. If you're telling racist jokes or making racist comments, you will be banned immediately without question.

4. Be mature. Please don't be an asshat on our forums. If you're caught, or if someone complains about you making insults ( unless it's in an RP), then you will be banned. This brings me to my next rule.

5. Don't take RP insults personally. It is merely the character insulting your character. That does not mean the person behind the post hates you. Don't be a baby.

In this roleplay, you decide when your Pokémon evolves. However, we ask that you try to keep it realistic and not evolve the minute after their first battle. What we will allow is an evolution during a battle, outside of a battle, or during anytime you see fit. Please use this responsibly. If we catch you, your Pokémon will be de-evolved.

Admins will decide whether or not your catch is successful. Here is how it works: A catch rate is determined by these factors: Health, any current Status Effects, rarity, and level.

If the level of the Pokémon is between 1 - 15, the catch rate is increased by one. If it is 16 - 25, it is increased by 2. If it is 26 - 40, then it is increased by three. You will almost never see a wild Pokémon above level forty, but if you do, then the catch rate will be increased by four [and that's not good, since it makes your chances smaller].

Next is health. If the Pokémon still has 3/4 of its health left or more, then the catch rate is increased by 3. If the Pokémon has half, then it is increased by 2. If it is in what is known as the "red zone," then it will be increased by only one. However, unlike in the games, we will allow you to catch a Pokémon that has fainted. In this case, your chances of catching it will always be 100%.

Next up is Status Effects. If the Pokémon has Poison, Sleep, Paralysis, Burn, or Freeze, then the rate is increased by only one. If any of the others ( such as confusion, attraction, etc. ), then the rate is increased by 2.

Rarity is simple. If it is a common Pokémon, the rate is increased by 0. If an uncommon, then one. If a rare, then 2. If it's an ultra rare, then 3. If it's a legendary, then it is not catchable. ( Only a select few chosen by admins are allowed to have only ONE chosen legendary ).

Lemme just start by saying that ditching your starters is bad. Very, very bad.

Moving on. You have three choices in choosing your starter:

1. Inside your character's history, you may have a Pre-Starter that your character came with. However, this is only allowed to be Common, Uncommon, and a select few Rare Pokémon.

2. You may go to the Professor's Laboratory under "Meet Your Pokémon!" in The Journey section of our Forums. The Pokémon here are always changing, so be on the lookout!

3. Your third choice, if you're feeling lucky, is to go to the Ranger Station under "Meet Your Pokémon!" Here, an admin will help you generate a random number, and that number will represent a Pokémon's number in the Dex. That Pokémon will appear and will be your starter.

Just like in the games, one post = one turn. However, you can do whatever you want in one turn. For example, you could do only one move and hope it's a direct hit, or you could have your Pokémon do something special, such as using a move in their environment to help them. You can also use items that are in your inventory.

Well, it's time to create your first character! But where do you start? Here are some tips on what to put into it.

Ambition [do they want to be a pokémon master? a breeder? a coordinator? why?]

Appearance [describe your character to me. at least 100 words]

Personality [how do they act towards others? how about towards pokémon? at least 100 words]
