In fact, quite the opposite. Ashley can only see the negative side of her: that her eyes are spaced too close, or that her nose tips out like Pinnochio's nose, or that she never has the best clothes. But in truth, her hair is always glossy and well-taken care of. Her eyes are a beautiful emerald green that sparkles with specks of white and gray. She normally wears her hair up in a light cream ribbon, but you will occasionally see her with her long, chestnut hair flowing down. Her body is petite, but that doesn't mean she isn't athletic. Ashley loves to run around circles sometimes when it rains, just feeling the rain splash down.
You will almost never see her without her yellow, fluffy coat, unless it's extremely hot and humid. However, from where she comes from, the weather was the same very day, rainy, and so she wore a coat every day. Mostly, she likes to wear pants and rarely wears skirts, but absolutely despises dresses. It's hard to get her into a skirt or dress. Personality Ashley may look timid, but she is quite fierce, especially in battle. Don't underestimate her small looks. That is actually her biggest pet peeve; being underestimated. The two of them train hard in order to overcome their appearance.
She loves making witty jokes, and takes every opportunity she can to do so. Even in battle, she likes witty talk to throw them off their game, enabling her to take advantage of their distraction and anger. Maybe it's not the most honorable thing to do, but it helps her weak Pokémon get by.
Ashley doesn't open up to strangers easily. She's a little closed off from the outside world, but her Pokémon is the only one who can get her to talk to strangers. Even the simplest chat, such as asking for directions, takes a bit of courage for her to walk up and speak to someone. Most of the time, he/she will nudge her and bite her pant leg, trying to drag her to someone to talk to. Since she was a little girl, Ashley didn't have many friends, which may be why she has such a hard time making them. On the contrary, when she's alone with her Pokemon, she will sometimes talk to him about everything. She's not even sure if he/she can understand her, but she vents aloud to him anyways, and he nods his head, as if he/she was truly listening.
Background Ashley was born in Castelia City, in the Unova Region. Her parents were Pokémon Breeders, trying to bring some of the outside world's Pokémon to Unova. Their jobs offered many financial opportunities for Ashley, but she never took them. In this huge city, there were not many children, leaving Ashley quite lonely as a young girl. Most of the time, she was found in the large center yard, playing with some Pidoves that splashed around in the fountain. On other days, she played with some of the Pokémon her parents bred from other Regions, some of which were extremely rare. Her mother, Cynthia, realizing her love for Pokémon, made a call to a professor in the Arya Region, requesting that her daughter be able to receive a starter there.
About two weeks later, they received a call from the Professor about the starter Pokémon. The answer was yes. Never before had she been so elated that her parents were breeders. Ashley, now 16, has started her journey a bit late, but is anxious to meet her new Pokémon. She received a Cyndaquil upon her arrival, and is now anxious to get her journey underway.
