Cari cautiously stepped inside the station, every nerve in her body telling her to turn back. However, her heart said no. She was going to receive her first Pokémon, and no one was going to stop her, even herself.
She walked up to the counter and asked where to go. Without a word, the lady at the counter pointed to the right. Cari nodded in gratitude and walked down.

  Pokémon Ranger Analese and Slamence A rather tanned lady came through the woods, riding on the back of a Salamence.
"Why, hello there! I'm Analese, and I'll help you get your starter!" She jumped off the dragon and pointed towards the forest. "That's where we'll be headed." She dragged Cari along.
You have encountered a: Sandshrew!  The Ranger nodded to her Salamence, who proceeded to use a light Slash on the Sandshrew!
Sandshrew -- 13%-- scratch - defense curl - sand attack - poison sting
"Hurry!" the Ranger shouted towards Cari, throwing her a Pokéball, "Catch it!'
Cari nodded and threw the ball.
It shook once...
It shook twice...
